Mr. Francis Cornelius Norman

Francis Cornelius (Corny) Norman, 74 of Dobson, NC passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family June 5, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Hospice Home in Dobson. Cornelius was born June 9, 1942 in Yadkin County to the late Garfield and Ticie Marion Norman. He was a member of Central View Missionary Baptist Church. Cornelius worked for 40 years at Perry Mfg Co in Mt Airy and 11 years at Advance Auto Parts in Dobson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law Betty Sue Holt Norman. Surviving is the love of his life and best friend Wilma Shew Norman of the home, one daughter and care giver Teresa Norman Coe (Rodney Darnell) of the home, one grand- daughter that was more like a daughter Jodi Coe Wilmoth (Broz) of Dobson, 3 cherished great grandchildren Jackson who he considered his special boy, Bella who was his little princess, and Macon who was his sweet boy and a furry canine companion Rhett Butler. 2 sisters Martha Whitesell (Don) of Hartford City, IN, Judy Reece (Dennis) of Mt Airy, 5 brothers Gray (Marie) of Elkin, Thomas (Frances) of Elkin, Bobby of Dobson, Benny of Dobson, Delbert ( Nancy) of Elkin, 2 sister-in-laws Shelby Evans of Galax, VA, Pat Tilley (Daryl) of Ararat, 1 brother-in-law Richard(Dickie) Shew (Beverly) of IL. Several nieces and nephews, co-workers and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday night June 8th at Moody Davis Funeral Home in Dobson from 6-8:00 and the funeral will be held Friday at 2:00 at Central View Baptist Church in Dobson officiated by Dr Craig Edwards. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zepyr Rd. Dobson NC 27017. The family would like to send a special thank you to his oncologists Carol Albright and Staff, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital doctors, nurses, and staff, and the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care nurses and doctors at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
