Mr. Frank Powell Mabe age 86 of 730 Old Buck Shoals Road, Mt. Airy, NC widower of Mrs. Peggy Louise Horton Mabe went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2012 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1925 in Surry County to the late John Beasley and Mary Anna Mabe, Sr. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II and was retired from Insteel Industries. Surviving are step son, Richard Beasley, Pilot Mountain, and wife, Donna Beasley, King, a step son-in-law, Randy Brown, Mt. Airy, step grandchildren, James Beasley, Raleigh, Nick Brown, Mt. Airy and Bethany Brown both of Mt. Airy, nieces and nephews, Mary Anne Gore, John F. Martin and Linda Collins, Mt. Airy, a special great niece, Kathy Sechrist, Westfield. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Mabe was preceded in death by sisters, Cora Renegar, Bertha Smith, Emma L. Mabe and Stella Martin and brothers, Alonzo Mabe, Walter F. Mabe, Bruce T. Mabe, Paul Mabe, Joe Mabe and John B. Mabe, Jr. Entombment services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum conducted by Rev. Richard Loman. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to Kathy Sechrist, PO Box, 165, Westfield, NC 27053 to help with medical expenses. Full military rites will be conducted at the Mausoleum by VFW Post 2019 Mt. Airy and VFW Post 9436 Pilot Mountain.
