Mr. Frank McCoy Rorrer

Mr. Frank McCoy Rorrer, age 83 of Bassett passed away Monday, February 4, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. He was born in Patrick County to the late Liash Rorrer and Fannie Frances Hopkins Rorrer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rorrer was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Fain Rorrer; a daughter, Stella Lou Rorrer, a granddaughter, Cindy Turner, a great-granddaughter, Madison Bailey; a son-in-law, William Turner; a sister, Dorothy Rorrer; five brothers, Greely, Amos, Cephus, Eugene and Jewell Rorrer; and a half-brother, Neal Stone. He had retired from Lester Lumber Company after 20 years of service as a truckdriver. After retiring, he began his own trucking business that he and his wife operated.
Mr. Rorrer is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby Turner of Bassett, Carolyn and Larry Brown of Bassett, Patsy and Larry Martin of Bassett and Pamela and Kenneth Ziglar of Axton; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank McCoy, Jr. and Jenny Rorrer of Rocky Mount; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Rorrer will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Burial will follow in Bouldin Memorial Presbyterian Church cemetery.
