Mr. Fred Eugene Burkhart

Mr. Fred Eugene Burkhart, 86, of Claudville, VA passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Patrick County on January 13, 1929 to the late John Wesley and Alice Pell Burkhart. Mr. Burkhart was retired from Mt. Airy Memorial and was a member of The Fellowship Church in Ararat, VA. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during to the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Frances Bishop Burkhart of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Bonnie and Ricky Overby of Ararat, VA, Doris White of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, Andrew Overby, Kyle Overby, Casey White, Sabra White; two great grandchildren, Lance and Alyssa Overby; two sisters and brother-in-law, Nellie Montgomery, Pamela and Jim Griffith all of Claudville, VA; three brothers and sister-in-law, Barney and Hazel Burkhart of Pinnacle, Robey Burkhart, and Bobby Burkhart both of Claudville, VA; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burkhart was preceded in death by a sister, Hester May Culler. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Monte Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Fellowship Church, P.O.
