Mr. Fred Sterlin Harrison, age 74 went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday after noon August 18, 2009. He was born in Surry County to the late William Howard Harrison and the late Vernie Mae Fowler Harrison. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Anchored in Jesus Church. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Mrs. Connie Nance Harrison of the home; a daughter Vicki Joyce Harrison of North Wilkesboro, NC; three sons and daughters-in-law Terry and Sheila Harrison of Elkin, Freddy and Penny Harrison of Dobson, and Michael Harrison of Yadkinville; by eight grandchildren, Hannah Harrison, Haylee Harrison, Heather Collins, Marty Gray, Stephanie Holt, Chase Harrison, Justen Quesenberry, and Darren Quesenberry; by one great grandchild
Blake Collins; by two sisters Sis Dezern and Gracie Halcomb both of Elkin, NC; by one brother and sister-in-law Grover and Lucille Harrison of Dobson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters Matty Mae Holfield, Mable Hodges, and Pauline Wood; by two brothers Clinton Harrison and Glen Harrison.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday August 21, 2009 at Snow Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Stone and Rev. Mark Sumner will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Thursday evening from 7 until 9 PM.
