Mr. Fred H. Spence, Sr

Mr. Fred Herman Spence, Sr., age 68, of Patrick Springs passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on Apr. 11, 1949 to the late Curtis Spence, Sr. and Mary DeHart Spence Hensley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Ellis Hensley; and a sister, Linda Jean “Judy” Cassady. Fred was a retired truck driver, lover of antique Harley’s, and a Proud Grandfather. He was a member of Wayside Community Church.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Spence of the home; one son, Freddy Spence of Stuart; one daughter and son-in-law, Brandy Spence and Alex Quesenberry of Patrick Springs; his grandchildren, Kayla Vaughn, Cody Spence, Eve Quesenberry, Noah Quesenberry; a special grandchild, Colton Martin; one sister, Margaret Massey of Patrick Springs; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Frances Spence, Sonny and Betty Spence all of Patrick Springs, Raymond and Earlean Spence, Bruce and Phyllis Spence all of Stuart, Alvin Ayers of Eden, NC; Junior Spence of Patrick Springs; Dot Spence of Ridgeway; a brother-in-law, Larry Cassady of Patrick Springs; a special friend, Will White of Collinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Mark Wright and David Bishop officiating. Burial will be private.
