Mr. Freeman Douglas Holder

Mr. Freeman Douglas Holder, 72, of Dobson, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Surry County on Nov. 11, 1943, to the late Douglas Cleve and Melba Freeman Holder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodie Rebecca Holder Mathis. He was a farmer and retired from Renfro in Mount Airy. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Goad Holder of the home; two daughters, Myra Kaye Holder of Mount Airy and Melissa Renea Holder of Mount Airy; son-in-law, Bobby Lee Mathis of Dobson; his special dog and friend, little Daisy; special friends, Angela Harold and Erica Hill. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy McCraw and the Rev. William Bryant conducting the funeral services. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moody-Davis Funeral Home.
