Mr. George Clifford Cockram

Mr. George Clifford Cockram, age 74 of Patrick Springs, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his home. He was born in Floyd County on March 10, 1937 to the late Clifford Cockram and Florence Ellen Cochran Cockram. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cockram was preceded in death by a step-son, Kyle Custer; and a brother, Johnnie Ray Cockram. He attended Charity Freewill Baptist Church, worked for Wilson Quarries for over 40 years as an equipment driver, and loved to hunt and fish.
Mr. Cockram is survived by his wife of 17 years, Gretchen Bocock Cockram of the home; one step-granddaughter, Christina McBride; one step-great-granddaughter, Kylee McBride; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Hallie and Pete Brown of Martinsville, Faye and Bill Williams of Patrick Springs and Blanche Williams of Stuart; nieces, Cindy Robertson and husband, Kenny, and Pam Williams, all of Patrick Springs; and special friends, Hub Chaney and Troy, Janet and Tammy Harbour.
Funeral services for Mr. Cockram will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Curtis Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home.
