Mr. George Wesley Harbour, Sr

Mr. George Wesley Harbour, Sr. age 81 of Stuart passed away Saturday evening at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born on March 7, 1930 to the late Charlie Murray Harbour and Mary Pendleton Harbour. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Coy Harbour; and a nephew, Julian Leon Harbour. He worked for many years with O.A. Harris Construction Co. as a carpenter and mason. He was a member of Smith River Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Men's Fellowship.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Vera P. Harbour of the home; two daughters and son in law, Nancy and Richard Pilson of Stuart, Brenda Collins of Stuart; a son and daughter in law, George W. Jr. and Wanda Harbour of Stuart; 4 grandchildren, Andy Rakes and wife, Lisa, Ryan Pilson and wife, Krystle, Jeremy Collins and wife, Amanda, Emily Turner and husband, Brian; 4 great grandchildren, Cameron and Nicholas Rakes, Abigail Pilson, Kaeden Turner; two sisters, Dorothy DeHart of Woolwine, Annie Adkins of Hickory, NC; and two brothers, Louis Harbour of Collinsville, and Joseph Harbour of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at 2 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Revs. Danny Gilley and Harry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens.
