Mr. George Walter Walker

Mr. George Walter Walker, Age 86 of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Walker was born in Davidson County on June 12, 1929 to the late Nathaniel and Florence Proctor Walker. Mr. Walker was a retired minister and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife Catherine Scarlett Walker, one son and daughter-in-law Steve and Ann Walker of Mt. Airy, seven grandchildren and spouses, Scarlett and David Speight, Lori and Brad Gammons and Curt Walker all of Mt. Airy, Bethany Walker of Asheboro, Makenzie Walker, Naomi Walker and Brandon Stout all of Sea Grove, four great grandchildren, Dalton Quesinberry, Kyndal Quesinberry, Ellie Gammons and Luke Gammons, a daughter-in-law Donna McNeill of Sea Grove and a son-in-law Bobby Holt of Elkin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his son Mark Walker, his daughter Diane Walker Holt, two sisters Fannie Davis and Margaret Harris and by three brothers William, Dolan and James Walker. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Darrell Tate and Rev. Bobby Walker officiating with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Garden Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until time for the funeral at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
