Mr. Gerald Stephen Hill

Mr. Gerald Stephen Hill, age 65 of Lawsonville, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on January 13, 1951 to the late Vance C. Hill and Mary Tudor Hill. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hill was preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy Hill, Mary Gilliam and Annie Marshall; and two brothers, Alan Hill and David Hill. Gerald attended North Stokes High School, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and received a Master’s degree from UNC-Greensboro. He was in the education field in Stokes County for many years. He enjoyed bowling, snow skiing, and hiking.

Mr. Hill is survived by seven siblings and their spouses. Avery Glidewell and husband, Andy of Greensboro, North Carolina, Beth Humble and husband, Ken of Julian, North Carolina, Margie May of Julian, North Carolina, Rebecca Wilson and husband, David of Stuart, Virginia, Danny Hill and wife, Betty of Lawsonville, North Carolina, Norma Harbour and husband, Steve of Stuart, Virginia, Ivan Hill and wife, Sue of Lawsonville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Peggy Hill of Lawsonville, North Carolina; and his beloved dog, Izzy.

A memorial service for Mr. Hill will be held Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Alan Vass officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
