Mr. Gidd Ellis "Buddy" Bowman

Mr. Gidd Ellis "Buddy" Bowman, 86, of 931 Willow Street, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, June 22, 2013, at his home. Mr. Bowman was born December 9, 1926, in Forsyth County, the son of the late Gidd and Alice Cline Bowman. He was a self-employed painter. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Sherrill Bowman of the home; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Bowman of Somerset, NJ, Roger Bowman of Bayville, NJ , and Bruce and Jan Bowman of Mount Airy; and a granddaughter, Savannah Bowman of Jackson, New Jersey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a son, David Bowman; a grandchild, Derrick Bowman; three sisters; and a brother. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2013 at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Chaplain Kevin Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
