Mr. Gilbert "Gil" Leroy Wilson

Mr. Gilbert Leroy "Gil" Wilson, age 66 of Woolwine, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 2, 1941 to the late Herbert and Lois Randall Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a step daughter, Lisa Geoffrion. He had served in the United States Army, and had worked as a finance officer for GMAC. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Betty Dickey Wilson of the home; two sons, Greg Wilson of Austell, Georgia and Brent Wilson of Woodstock, Georgia; one daughter, Amy Harrison of Canton, Georgia; three step-sons, Michael Scoggins of Fayetteville, Georgia, Chris Scoggins of High Point, North Carolina and Kevin Adams of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one step-daughter, Traci Adams of Honolulu, Hawaii; six grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mr. Wilson will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Melton officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church.
