Mr. Glenn Hugh Dawson

Mr. Glenn Hugh Dawson, 89, of Cana, VA passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA. He was born in Carroll County on July 31, 1926 to the late Arthur Hugh and Minnie Branson Dawson. Mr. Dawson was a retired farmer and was a member of Willow Hill Moravian Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Margie Red Boyd Dawson of the home; a daughter, Sherry R. Dawson of Winston Salem; sons and daughters-in-law, Randall H. Dawson and Elizabeth, Mark G. Dawson and Rebecca all of Ararat, VA.; grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel, Helen, and Arthur Dawson all of Ararat, VA.; sisters-in-law, Esther Dawson of Ararat, VA, Eulala Dawson of Cana, VA.; a special nephew, Bill Dawson, and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by sisters, Hassie Haynes, and Clennie Dawson; brothers, Garnet, Walter, Eugene, and Luke Dawson. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Willow Hill Moravian Church with Pastor Chuck Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the service at Willow Hill Moravian Church.
