Mr. Gleon Lester Harris

Mr. Gleon Lester Harris, age 85 of Meadows of Dan passed away Sunday in the loving care of his granddaughter, Jennifer Schall. He was born on Oct. 14, 1921 to the late Harvey and Ida Shelor Harris. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Stella Knowles Harris; one infant sister; and three infant brothers. Mr. Harris was retired from J.P. Stevens and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Connie and Jerry Webb of Salem; one son, Earl L. Harris of Durham, NC; four grandchildren, Luke Harris, Tyler Harris, Stacy Webb, Jennifer Webb Schall; and six great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service Tuesday, July, 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard c/o Ophus Agnew, P O Box 129, Stuart, VA 24171.
