Mr. Grady Junice Prater

Mr. Grady Junice Prater, age 77 of Ferrum, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at his great-nephew's, Mike Adkins', home on Pole Bridge Road, Stuart. He was born in Franklin County on May 3, 1931 to the late Ike Prater and Virgie Holley Prater Rakes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Prater was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Foster Whitlow; and three brothers, James Odell Foster, Charlie William Foster and Eugene Prater.
Mr. Prater is survived by three sisters, Eva Hobson of Martinsville, Betty Sue Holley of Ferrum and Thelma Rakes Chaney of Patrick Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mr. Prater will be held Monday, April 13, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Adkins Family Cemetery, Thompson Ridge Road, Ferrum with Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating.
