Mr. Gurney Claude Hooker

Mr. Gurney Claude Hooker, age 74, of Lawsonville, NC passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 at his home. He was born on Jan. 3, 1941 in Patrick County to the late James Merritt Hooker and Dorothy Puckett Hooker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Mae Martin Hooker; three sisters, Eula Mae Hooker Flinchum, Carlene Hooker Bullins, Rebecca Ann Hooker Flinchum; two brothers, Clifford Hooker, Forister Hooker; and a nephew, Tommy Hooker. Gurney loved racing, lottery tickets, and raising chickens.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Claude Hooker of Lawsonville, NC, Marcus and Julie Hooker of Walnut Cove, NC, Kenneth and Sandra Hooker of Lawsonville, NC; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Lillian Hooker of Lawsonville, NC.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Allen Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Minnie’s Chapel Church Cemetery.
