Mr. Harlie Elton Hubbard

Mr. Harlie Elton Hubbard, age 86 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia passed away February 26, 2016 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on May 12, 1929 to the late Walter Hubbard and Elizabeth Agee Hubbard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hubbard was preceded in death by three brothers, Clayton, Wayne and Ernest Hubbard. He was a member of Conners View Primitive Baptist Church.

Mr. Hubbard is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth Conner Hubbard of the home; five daughters, Carolyn Bryant and family friend, John Halsey of Stuart, Linda and Paul Nester of Laurel Fork, Betty Garland of Winder, Georgia, Susan Hubbard of Galax and Kathryn and Kent Epperson of Ararat, Virginia; one son, David Hubbard and Fiancé Debbie Hall of Meadows of Dan; three sisters, Janie and Troy Brammer of Collinsville, India Williams of Stuart, Essie and Garland Hughes of Stuart; one brother, Melvin and Iola Hubbard of Meadows of Dan; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm. at Conners View Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home.
