Mr. Harry Michael "Mike" Handy, 61 of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia on May 20, 1952 to the late Harry Byrd and Barbara Handy. Mr. Handy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, a former member of Martinsville-Henry County Rescue Squad and worked many years for Bassett Walker and MW Windows. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Dale Lovell Handy, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and David Michael Fulcher of Bartlett, Tennessee; his beloved grandson, Thomas Michael Fulcher; a sister and brother-in-law, DiAnne and Richard Dix of High Point, NC. A memorial service will be held 6 pm on Saturday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church located 824 Starling Avenue Martinsville, Virginia. In keeping his request, and his desire to help others, Mr. Handy's body was donated to science. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017 in honor of Mr. Handy. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the family.
