Mr. Harry Earl Puckett

Mr. Harry Earl Puckett, age 82, of Stuart, and formerly of Martinsville, passed away Friday, November 10, 2006 in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on January 8, 1924 to the late Henry R. and Kate Burge Puckett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Minnie H. Puckett; and two brothers, Terry and Elbert Puckett. He graduated from Stuart High School, served in the United States Army during World War II, and was retired from DuPont of Martinsville.
Mr. Puckett is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven E. and Deborah Puckett of Stuart and Richard W. and Donna B. Puckett of Mount Airy, North Carolina; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Morris Puckett of Meadows of Dan; and three sisters, Mildred Shelton of Martinsville, and Margaret Sowers and Juanita Mitchell, both of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mr. Puckett will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. J. D. Harmon, Rev. Jack Foley and Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Puckett Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Stone Memorial Christian Church in Collinsville and Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Patrick County/Caring Hands Adult Daycare Center, 835 Woodland Dr., Suite 101, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
