Mr. Harvey Washington Smart

Mr. Harvey Washington Smart, age 84, of Stuart died Sunday, March 25, 2007 at RJR Patrick County Memorial Hospital. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving as a military policeman and retired from J P Stevens after 38 years of service. He was born on February 21, 1923 in Patrick County to the late Walter F. Smart and the late Mary Fain Smart. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Mr. Smart is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clara Pilson Smart of the home. One daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Durand Hines of Patrick Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Cathy Smart of Patrick Springs and Billy and Robyn Smart of Martinsville; one sister, Mrs. Alfred (Monsie) Combs of Eden N.C., 5 grandchildren, Brian Hines, Jessica Hines, Brandon Hines, Lindsay Smart, and Jared Smart.
Funeral services for Mr. Smart will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart conducted by Rev. Jack Foley and Rev. Kenneth Terry. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with Military Rites by the Patrick County Veteran Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
