Mr. Harvey Wilson Wall

Mr. Harvey Wilson Wall, 92, of Ararat, NC passed away peacefully Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on April 24, 1921 to the late Charlie Edward "Ed" and Hester Danley Wall. Mr. Wall bravely served with the military police in the U.S. Army during WWII. Entering Japan just after its defeat with the first American occupying forces, he continued with his service for another year. He was a hard working farmer, talented cabinet maker and furniture builder, loved his wife, family, neighbors and church. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Wall is survived by his devoted wife of 73 years, Evelyn Alice Hill Wall of the home; three children, Bonnie Atwell and husband, Eli of Winston Salem, Ray Wall and wife, Anne of Mt. Airy, Barbara Weir and husband, Charley of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren, Holly and Ron Johnston, Gavin Jones, Andrea Stewart, Mari Atwell and Mark Singletary, Alyson and Greg Semones; three great grandchildren, Katelyn Jones, Kamryn Semones and Colsen Semones; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wall was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Rock Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. They will receive friends at the home. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center, Mountain Valley Hospice, neighbors and friends for the wonderful care shown to Mr. Wall during his illness.
