Mr. Henry Dean Edwards

Mr. Henry Dean Edwards, 74, of Pilot Mountain passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on April 21, 1942 to the late Claude Reece and Ernestine Ayers Edwards. Mr. Edwards owned and operated Edwards Garage and Body Shop for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Georgie Mae Cockerham Edwards of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Pam Edwards, Greg and Angie Edwards; four grandchildren, Kelly Leann Edwards, Dale Dean Edwards, Laken Marie Edwards, Savana Leigh Edwards; a great grandson, Caleb Michael Gray; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lettie Jean and Roger Haunn, Joy and Billy Bobbitt, Opal Slate; brother and sister-in-law, Roy Lee and Judy Edwards. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Edwards; an infant son, Ronnie Edwards; a brother, Reecy Franklin Edwards; an infant sister, Mildred Edwards; and a brother-in-law, Garry Slate. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM, at Beulah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Vaught and Rev. Chris McMillian officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 12:00 until 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o David Whitfield, 266 Raven Knob Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
