Mr. Henry Dale Hawks

Mr. Henry Dale Hawks, 52, of 201 Joel Drive, Cana, VA, passed away Friday afternoon, September 6, 2013, at his home. He was born December 17, 1960, in Forsyth County, to Polly Leona McMillian Hawks and the late John Henry Hawks. Left to cherish his memory along with his mother are, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Melissa and Junior Sawyers of Mt. Airy, Cindy and Barry Hawks of Cana, and Beth and Jack Cagle of Cana; one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Angel Hawks of Galax; 15 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews; special Aunt Faithie Louzettie Hall; special cousin and caregiver, Monroe Mayes. In addition to his father, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joel and Inez McMillian and Gilbert and Ellen Hawks. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Marlie Hawks, Rev. Richard Hawks and Elder Arwood Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
