Mr. Herman Otis Logan, Sr

Mr. Herman Otis Logan, Sr., age 87, of, Hillsville, VA, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at his home. He was born May 26. 1926, in Athens, Georgia, and was the only child of Audie Benjamin and Martha Virginia Peterson Logan. He was a WWII veteran, a graduate of Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois and spent over 50 years in the life insurance business. He was an accomplished pianist and served as an avocational choir director in churches where he lived in Georgia, New Jersey and Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Loraine Henry Logan, and is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William B. Logan, Sr. and Kathy, of Hillsville, VA, Herman O. Logan, Jr. and Karen, of Hillsville, VA, and John W. Logan and Susan, of Gypsum, CO. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Following a graveside service, he was buried next to his wife in the family cemetery, he established at his home in Patrick County, VA. Arrangements were by Moody Funeral Service, Mt. Airy, NC.
