Mr. Herman Francis Slate, Jr

Mr. Herman Francis, Slate, Jr., age 83 Pinnacle passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Central Continuing Care after an extended illness. He was born in Scotland County on December 22, 1932 to the late Herman Frances Slate, Sr. and Anna Tuttle Slate. Mr. Slate was retired from Motor Convey after many years of dedicated
and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served our country during the Korean Conflict. Those left to cherish his memory are his son an daughter- in-law, Rex and Ann Davidson Slate, of Pinnacle; his beloved granddaughter, Carlee Davidson; three sisters, Myrtle Teal, Sarah Stancil and Mary Slate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ona Mae McKinney Slate and a sister, Frances Oldham. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Pinnacle View Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Chamblin. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
