Mr. Homer Neal Keen, Sr

Mr. Homer Neal Keen, Sr., age 85 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was born in Short Gap, Virginia on February 28, 1931 to the late William David Keen and Mary Cantrell Keen. In addition to his parents, Mr. Keen was preceded in death by one son, Joseph David Keen; two brothers, Edward Keen and Albert Keen; three sisters, Ruby Keen Stanley, Virginia Keen Ball and Baby Keen. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War with the 11th Airborne Division.

Mr. Keen is survived by his wife, Gracie Ellen Boyd Keen of the home; one son, Homer Neal Keen, Jr. of Florida; five daughters, Keron Keen Setliff of Henry, Judy Keen Lowe of Stuart, Kathy Keen Murphy of Stuart, Patricia Keen Upton of Stuart, Misty Keen Disharoon of Oak Level; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lillie Keen Cook of Kingsport, Tennessee, Georgia Keen of North Carolina, Bonnie Keen Absher of Richlands; and his dog, Snoopy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Chaplain Jeff Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in the Keen-Boyd Family Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
