Mr. Horace Junior Sawyers

Mr. Horace Junior Sawyers, 70 of Dobson passed away at his home on Friday, December 2, 2011. Mr. Sawyers was born in Patrick County, VA on September 21, 1941 to Medie Esther Sawyers Craig. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was employed by Surry County Public Works Department. In addition to his mother, Mr. Sawyers is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gray Edmonds of Pinnacle; a son Dean Sawyers of Tampa, FL; step-son and spouse, Lonnie and Maxie Malcomb of Hillsville; a special grandson, Timmy Lee Sawyers of the home, two other grandchildren, Ashley Edmonds and Wesley Edmonds; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann and Rev. Arlis Thomas and Daisy Leftwich all of Mt. Airy; two brothers, Edward Sawyers of King,, and Leon Craig of Mt. Airy. Mr. Sawyers was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Malcomb Sawyers and an infant son, Charles Junior Sawyers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Atkins, Rev. Arlis Thomas, Rev. Dennis Bledsoe and Rev. Ken Young officiating.
