Mr. Howard Akers Fain

Mr. Howard Akers Fain, age 79, of Stuart passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Fain was born in Patrick County on January 8, 1937 to the late Paul and Lois Dollarhite Fain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Fain Gregory. Mr. Fain served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Conner’s View Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Hollis Rorrer Fain of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Tammy Fain of Stuart, Jerry and Charlotte Fain of Goode, Benny Fain and friend, Patricia Burleigh of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Erin Fain, Ben Fain, Brandon Fain, Adam Fain; three sisters, Lucy Conner, Elaine Gammons, Bernice Tilley of Stuart; three brothers, Homer Fain of Stuart, Herman Fain of Patrick Springs, Vernon Pete Fain of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Conner’s View Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Edward Bowman and Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
