Mr. Howard Lee Gilley

Mr. Howard Lee Gilley age 63, of Danbury, North Carolina passed away at his home on June 12, 2017. He was born in Eden, North Carolina on April 17, 1954 to the late John Gillie and Remonia Smith Gillie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John Gillie, Jr. Howard worked for Unifi since 1972, was an avid UNC Tarheel fan, and was his grandkids Rook partner.

Howard is survived by his wife, Cleo Willard Gilley of Lawsonville; his children, Donald Gilley of Lawsonville, and Peggy Venable and husband, A.G. of Westfield; grandchildren, Samuel Venable, Abigail Venable, Emma Gilley, and Audrey Gilley; siblings, Connie Smith and husband, Cicero, Wayne Gillie and wife, Faye, and Becky Smith and husband, Phillip, all of Danbury; mother of two of his granddaughters, Marissa Gilley of Lawsonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow in the Aaron’s Corner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
