Mr. Hubert Isaac Jones

Mr. Hubert Isaac Jones, age 92 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Fork Mountain Adult Rest Home in Rocky Mount. He was born in Patrick County on June 14, 1924 to the late Henry and Susan Hatcher Jones. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by six sisters, Lottie Jones, Lora Elgin, Pearl Walker, Sally Berry, Irene Martin and Merlie Hall; and two brothers, Noel and Henry Jones. He was a longtime member of Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy, and had retired from J.P. Stevens with 33 years of service.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 70 years, Esther Bryant Jones of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and John Cabler of Greensboro, North Carolina, Carolyn and Michael “Johnny” Turner of Bassett and Rita and Bobby Shively of Martinsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Judy Jones of Stuart; five grandchildren, Jennifer Daw, Beverly Turner, Julie Turner, Jeremy Jones and Robert Shively; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Greg Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
