Mr. Ike Fox, Jr

Mr. Ike Fox, Jr., age 63 of Woolwine, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Fleming, Kentucky on February 3, 1947 to the late Ike Fox, Sr. and Eura Bently Fox. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fox was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Fox. He proudly served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam conflict in the first of the 23rd Infantry Division from 1967 to 1970 as a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol Sargeant E5. He was of the Pentecostal faith, and was a game birds enthusiast his entire life.
Mr. Fox is survived by his wife, Angela Jane Fox of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Fox and Terry Bean, and Wendy Fox; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kim Fox; a step-daughter, Lisa Burrow; a step-son, Eric Martin; and ex-wife, Barbara Thomas Fox, all of Westmore, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, George Fox of Wellston, Ohio and Willie Fox of Jackson, Ohio; a sister, Clara Sue Cox of Lois, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Betty Ayers of Asheboro, North Carolina and Donna Sloan of Williamson, West Virginia; and two brothers-in-law, John Fields of West Virginia and Bobby Dean Fields of Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with his son-in-law, Terry Bean, and Pastor Jamie Cockman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Fox Family Cemetery in Woolwine with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
