Mr. Jack Cecil Bass

Mr. Jack Cecil Bass, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care in Yadkinville. He was born in Surry County September 12, 1930 to the late Emory and Bessie Johnson Bass. He retired Bassett Furniture and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Bass is survived by his daughter-in-law, Patricia Taylor; grandchildren and spouse, Mark and Donna Taylor, and Johnny Taylor; sisters, Louise McCall and Sylvia Martin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his wife, Clorine Humphries Taylor Bass; sister, Margie Chilton; and brothers, Worth, Charlie, Claude and Garl Bass. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with Rev. Dale Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Airy Fire Department, 437 Rockford St., Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care, 333 E. Lee Ave., Yadkinville, NC 27055.
