Mr. Jack A. Joyce

Mr. Jack Arnold Joyce, age 87 of Pilot Mountain, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Joyce was born in Surry County on March 23, 1928 to William Ausborn and Maxi Lynch Joyce. He was employed with Pilot Hosiery for over 40 years and was a dedicated member of Toms Creek Primitive Baptist Church where he also served as Deacon. Surviving is his devoted wife of nearly 69 years, Dorothy “Dot” Sue Simmons Joyce; sisters, Ruby Joyce, Ioma Mitchell and Nancy Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Doris Joyce and Swanson and Ruby Joyce and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Joyce; and brothers, Tommy Joyce, Aubrey Joyce and Elder Junior Joyce. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Toms Creek Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Jimmy Joyce and Elder Rodney Marshall. Burial will follow in Simmons Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday night at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Toms Creek Primitive Baptist Church or to Simmons Family Cemetery.
