Mr. Jack D. Maines age 70 of 3784 Lambsburg, Road, Lambsburg, VA husband of Mrs. Mary Kathleen "Cookie" Bryant Maines passed away September 14, 2012 at his home. He was born June 3, 1942 in Alleghany County, NC to Hazel Brooks Maines. He was a self employed concrete pourer and finisher and was a logger. Mr. Maines was a member of the Lambsburg Fellowship Tabernacle. Surviving are his wife, Mary K. "Cookie" Maines of the home, three sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Michelle Maines, Tazwell, VA, Ronald Lanier and fiancée, Natasha Bourne of the home, Sam and Angela Lanier, Mt. Airy, NC, mother and step-father, Hazel B. and Carl Edwards, Glade Creek, NC, grandchildren, Gabriel Lanier and Nicklaus Lanier, Makayla and Stephanie Maines, Gabriel Payne, Christian Payne and Emberlyn Payne, two brothers and a sister-in-law, David Maines, Lowgap, NC and James and Teresa Edwards, Glade Creek, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 17, 2012 at Lambsburg Fellowship Tabernacle conducted by Rev. David Allred and Rev. Donald Bryant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sunday at Lambsburg Fellowship Tabernacle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lambsburg Fellowship Tabernacle Benevolence Fund, 18 Chappell Lane, Lambsburg, VA 24351.
