Jackie (Jack) Wayne Brown, 77, passed away peacefully at his home on February 15th, 2018.
Jack was born to Thelma, and Charles Brown in Bassett, Va. on the 24th of December, 1940.
Jack's quest for adventure led to him having his mother sign a waiver so he could join the military at age 17. First the Virginia National Guard, then the United States Air Force. A combined total service of over 28 years.
Early in his Air Force career, while stationed in Germany, he met his wife, Margarete Gretel Brown. They were married 19 October, 1960. They traveled the world together, both while he served in the Air Force, and until shortly before Gretel's death.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Gretel, and is survived by three children, Debbie Amos, Cathy James and Jackie Brown Jr., six grandchildren Deleon Amos, Crystal Volk, Andrew Hill, Lili Amos, Deon Amos and Jared Pittsenbarger and six Great-Grandchildren Angel Hill, Anna Walton, Maria Walton, Catherine Walton, Katelyn and Eliana Volk.
Jack loved the outdoors. He had a passion for fishing, and fished in many waters around the world. His favorites being salmon fishing in Kenai Ak, and deep sea fishing off the Carolina coast. Jack loved to travel, however he was never more comfortable than in his home here in Stuart, VA.
The Family has chosen to honor his wishes and not hold funeral services. Instead his remains will be cremated and scattered in accordance with his wishes.
