Mr. Jackie Ray Tolbert

Mr. Jackie Ray Tolbert, 76, of Mt. Airy passed Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on October 18, 1939 to the late, Earl Conrad and Lassie Scott Tolbert. Mr. Tolbert was retired from National Mt. Airy Furniture Company. He was a hardworking man who did a great job providing for his family. He was a family man, and was a great neighbor, and friend to so many people. Jackie was a good hearted man that helped a lot of people. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Taylor Tolbert of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Doug Hodges of Mt. Airy; sons, Lucky Tolbert, and Blaine Tolbert both of Mt. Airy; grandchildren and spouses, Holly and Dustin York, Dustin and Anjie Hodges, Britany and Larry Padgett, Jarred Tolbert, Seth Tolbert, and Velvet Tolbert; great grandchildren, Brody York, Mallie York, Noah Padgett, Jhett Tolbert, Saylor Tolbert; step-great grandchild, Haley Dickerson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud and Hazel Tolbert, Jerry and Ann Tolbert all of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tolbert was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Tolbert. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Union Hill Friends Meeting Cemetery with Mr. Gary Sewell officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church.
