Mr. James Edwin "Jack" Dalton

Mr. James Edwin "Jack" Dalton, age 80 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on October 1, 1933 to the late Frank James Dalton and Mabel Edna West Dalton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Cora Bell and Ray Lawson. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean war, attended Dobyns Primitive Baptist Church, and retired from DuPont in Martinsville as an Assistant Spinning Operator with 33 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Dalton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annie Belle Hall Dalton of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tammy Dalton of Stuart; one grandson, Nicholas Dalton of Stuart; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Owen and Lois Dalton, Phil and Sara Dalton, all of Meadows of Dan; and a sister and brother-in-law, Iva and Elroy Newman of Lynchburg.
Funeral services for Mr. Dalton will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens with a flag presentation by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
