Mr. James Edward Hughes

Mr. James Edward Hughes, age 66, of Seattle, Washington and of Spencer, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, California. He was born on October 11, 1942 in Patrick County to the late James Roy and Vada Gay Pendleton Hughes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by one sister, Teresa Gammons. He had served in the United States Army, and had been a forklift operator for Jore Corporation. He loved to hunt and fish.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Frances Holt Hughes, who will now be residing in their Spencer home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Maggie Hughes of Marysville, Washington and Brad Hughes of Kent, Washington; two granddaughters, Kathe and Kendall; two sisters, Darnell H. Cockram and Martha Jane Hughes, both of Martinsville; and one brother, Charles E. Hughes of Stuart.
A graveside service for Mr. Hughes will be held Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church cemetery with Waitman Wade officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. until time to proceed to the cemetery.
