Mr. James Lester Johnson

Mr. James “Lester” Johnson, age 63, of Dobson, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, after an automobile accident.  He was born in Surry County to Martha Pauline Hutson Johnson and to the late William Roscoe Johnson.  He was a disabled drywall hanger and was a member of Black Water Community Church.  Surviving is his sons, Matthew Johnson and Michael Johnson; grandchild, Emma Johnson; mother, Martha Pauline Hutson Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Junior Vaughn and Janice and Landon Carter;  brother, and fiancée, Chester Johnson and Jean Horton; several nieces and nephews and cousin whom he loved dearly; friend Sylvia Hill.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Blackwater Community Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Ted Crotts, Rev. Hank Robertson, Rev. Ray Hutson will officiate the services.  The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 PM until the time of his service at 2:00 PM, and at other times the home of his mother, 487 Crotts Rd. Mt. Airy, NC 27030.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Johnson Family.
