Mr. James Anason Kingsbury

Mr. James Anason Kingsbury, age 83 of Lowgap, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at his daughter's home. Mr. Kingsbury was born in Surry County on April 14, 1930 to Anderson Eldridge and Beatrice Hutson Kingsbury. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Janice Paige and Ricky Beane of Winston-Salem; a son, James Steven Kingsbury of the home; grandchildren, Twain Steven Kingsbury and fiancée Kristin Townsend, Cody Holyfield, Loretta Anderson, Preston Murray and Shaun Holyfield; great granddaughters, Marie Dawn Kingsbury, Sara Kingsbury and Angel Faye Kingsbury; special cousins, Sonny Westmoreland and Barbara Coe and very special friends at Brenda's Kountry Kitchen. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kingsbury was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Mae Jones Kingsbury; a sister, Peggy Baker; a brother, Junior Kingsbury and a daughter-in-law, Pat Kingsbury. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday July 23, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00.
