Mr. James Louis Delay Lamm

Dr. James Louis DeLay Lamm, 78, was born in Mount Airy November 26, 1929, the son of the late Louis Marion Lamm and of the late Gertrude DeLay Lamm. He was active in Boy Scouts as a youth and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a member of the Golden Fleece Society. He then graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Lamm, a veteran of the United States Army, spent his professional years as a child psychiatrist in San Francisco, California. Dr. Lamm is survived by his brother William and wife Marilyn of Mount Airy, nieces, Dena Cook Moore and husband Shane of Winston-Salem, Anne Lamm of Boone, and nephew Christopher and wife Dr. Meredith Coone Lamm of Asheville. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Ray Hanna Wednesday, September 10th at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Boy Scouts of America, Old Hickory Council, 6600 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston Salem, NC. 27106. Moody Funeral Home is serving the Lamm family.
