Mr. James Walter Mabe

Mr. James Walter Mabe, age 63 of Ridgeway, passed away Tuesday evening, January 2, 2007 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born in Bassett, Virginia on January 11, 1943 to the late James Arthur Mabe and to Callie Roberts Mabe Honea of Pinnacle, North Carolina. He had retired from Ridgeway Clocks.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Mabe is survived by his wife, Geralean "Gerri" Day Mabe of the home; five daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Mabe and Greg Spencer of Fairystone, Reida N. Lester of Martinsville, Raven P. Newman of Bassett, Robbin N. and Donnie Higgs of Martinsville and Leeia N. and Joseph Sink of Martinsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Jackie Day of Fairystone; fourteen grandchildren, Brian Spencer, Jessica Spencer, Amanda Shelton, Reida Lynn Wilson, Mistie Newman, Maranda Baliles, Jamie Foster, Thomas Foster, Joseph Sink, Jr., Jennie Sink Donley, Annisa Sink, Melinda Day, Andrew Thomas Day and William Hundley; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Denise Bateman of Pinnacle and Barbara Ann Merriel of Charlotte, NC.
Funeral services for Mr. Mabe will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. If desired, memorials may be made to the Horsepasture Rescue Squad, P.O.
