Mr. James Robert "J.R." Martin

Mr. James Robert “J.R.” Martin, age 29, of Patrick Springs passed away Tuesday March 6, 2018. He was born in Roanoke on Dec. 7, 1988. J.R. was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Dent Martin; a sister, Laurie Ann Reynolds; his paternal grandparents, Randolph and Annie Martin; and his maternal grandparents, James Dent and Dorothy Simpson. J.R. was a 2007 graduate of Patrick County High School and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Surviving are his son, Jacob Martin of Patrick Springs; his father, Clinton D. Martin of Patrick Springs; one sister, Tracy Martin and fiancé, Billy Brooks of Stanleytown; one brother, Danny Martin of Bassett; six nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery in Patrick Springs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
