Mr. James Douglas Poff

Mr. James Douglas Poff, 73, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Surry County on April 3, 1943 to the late Sidney and Stella McHone Poff. Mr. Poff was retired from Perry Manufacturing Company, and attended Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Birda Bond Poff of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Dreama and Chad Gwyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Jacky and Emily Poff; a step daughter, Patricia Ann Edwards; a step-son, Wiley Guynn; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Donald Wilcox; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Poff. In addition to his parents, Mr. Poff was preceded in death by a son, James Douglas Poff, Jr.; a sister, Joann Morris; brothers, Robert Poff, and Bobby Poff, a step son, Joseph Marty Guynn. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Perdue officiating. Burial will follow in Elks Spur Cemetery.
