Mr. James Garfield Pullins

Mr. James Garfield Pullins, age 63 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on April 4, 1953 to the late Fletcher and Martha Phillips Pullins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pullins was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Pullins, and two sisters, Genetta Moore and Gertrude Harris. He attended Mount Calvary Holy Church, had retired from the United States Postal Service, and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Mr. Pullins is survived by one son, Darryl Pullins of Rochelle, New York; special friend, Rufaye Jones of Rochelle, New York; eight sisters, Della Pilson of Woolwine, Mattie Scott of High Point, North Carolina, Dorothy Pullins of Stuart, Irene Stubblefield of Reidsville, North Carolina, and Glenda Joseph, Hattie Pullins, Marquentia Pullins and Alesia Bratton, all of High Point; one brother, Laymon Pullins of Georgia; a special niece, Teresa Pullins, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; and a beloved companion, Booki Pullins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder G. Joseph Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery. There will not be a formal wake. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
