Mr. James Alvin Reynolds

Mr. James Alvin Reynolds, age 85 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on May 21, 1923 to the late Fred and Etta Roberson Reynolds. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jean Rakes Reynolds; one brother, Doyle Reynolds; and one sister, Hilda A. Adkins. He had served in the United States Army and Navy, and had retired as manager for Electric Service and Sales in Martinsville.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by two sons, James Alvin Reynolds, Jr. of Greensboro, North Carolina and Jeffrey Scott Reynolds of Stuart; one daughter, Jeannie Reynolds Hodges of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Brittney and Kelsey Burkett; and two sisters, Nelda Martin of Francisco, North Carolina and Evis Neerland of Orlando, Florida.
Funeral services for Mr. Reynolds will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rakes Family Cemetery with a flag presentation by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
