Mr. James Ray "Slim" Trexler

Mr. James Ray "Slim" Trexler, age 71 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on August 23, 1941 to the late Paul and Dolly Talbert Trexler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Trexler was preceded in death by a step great-granddaughter, Kayla Strader; and two sisters, Ruth Wilson and Mary McAdams. He was a member High Point Baptist Church and had been a sawmiller for 40 years.
Mr. Trexler is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patty Cox Trexler of the home; one step daughter, Sandra Vaughn and her husband, Barry, of Richmond; one step son, Robert Thompson of Germanton, North Carolina; seven step grandchildren; thirteen step great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Agee of Stuart; and two brothers, Ervin Trexler of Stuart and David Trexler of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at High Point Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Moore and Pastor Shaun Draughn officiating. Burial will follow in Aaron's Corner Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service at the church. If desired, memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, North Carolina 27017, or to the High Point Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Terry Amos, 439 Biggs Lane, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
