Mr. JD Roosevelt "Buck" Wood

Mr. JD Roosevelt "Buck" Wood, age 68, of Boonville, NC passed away on Tuesday morning October 10, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Surry County on August 12, 1944 to the late Pete Wood Jr. and the late Marylene Southard Wood. He was retired from Insteele Wire Products in Mt. Airy. Buck loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Phyllis Newman Wood of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law Angela and Everett Honeycutt; Tabitha and Robert Sellers all of Boonville; four grandchildren Austin Owens, Cheyene Pruitt, Carson Sellers and Mia Sellers; three sisters and two brothers-in-law Helen and Bob Marion, Linda Cooke, Ann and Wayne Martin all of Mt. Airy; one brother Larry Wood of Elkin; one sister-in-law Pam Wood of Dobson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Faye Wood, and a son Pete Bradely Wood; one brother Ellis Wood. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday October 13, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Neil Pressley will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Friday evening October 12, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.. Moody- Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Wood Family.
