Mr. Jerry Wayne Bowman, age 63 of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, August 1, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Bowman was born on April 23, 1953 in Forsyth County to Elsie Lankford Bowman and the late Frank Akers Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Linda Jo Myers Bowman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jamie Sims and Eugene of Clemmons; three grandsons, Dustin, Samuel, and Matthew Elter; his mother, Elsie Lankford Bowman; a sister, Dorothy Ann Bowman; a brother and sister-in-law, Clyde William “Glenn” Bowman and Imogene Bowman, all of Mt. Airy; nieces and nephews, Cynthia Parks, Randall and Carrie Bowman, Melissa Hawks, Pebbles Evans, and Brad and Rachel Bowman; great nieces and nephews, Hunter, Isabella, Luca, Randall, Allison, Raine, Abigail, Alexandria, Mercedes, Houston, Cameron and Cole; and a great great niece, Keyana. In addition to his father, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Kay Bowman McBride; and a brother, James Akers Bowman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Joylight Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dale Bass officiating with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 until 3:00PM at Joylight Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
